FAQ's for dlc 2024

When is dlc happening?
DLC 2024 is going to be the week of July 21st through July 27th. Campers can arrive for registration starting at 1:00pm on Sunday the 21st of July.
Where is the camp held?
DLC is held at Camp Shepard just beyond Enumclaw, WA. This is a Boy Scout facility near the mountains with very little cell phone reception. Contact can be made to the Ranger on a land line if the need should arise. If you need directions please go to the contact us link above and click on the map. You can follow the online resources at that point to get directions from your location to the camp.
Who do i contact for information about scholarships?
Each state has their own program for helping campers to attend DLC. Click here to see a list of who you should contact in each state for assistance.
What should i bring with me to camp?
You should bring with you a sleeping bag and pillow or appropriate bedding needs. You will be housed in a cabin with bunks including a mattress.
You should bring comfortable clothing including shorts and long pants as the weather can be both very warm and colder at night. Campers will be provided with 2 shirts to wear during the week but you should also bring undershirts and shirts to wear during sports. We will also provide laundry of the shirts.
Additionally you will need towels and any toiletries for your showering or grooming needs.
You will not need a cell phone as there is not a cell signal onsite and you will be asked to keep them put away during your time at camp. If you need to be reached the phone number to the rangers home is available here on the website.
You can bring money for snacks or clothing that is available in our onsite store, but be sure to take caution with it so it does not get lost.
When should i arrive to camp?
You should arrive no earlier than 1:00pm on Sunday July 21st. This is very important since we will be finishing setup for the week and registration specifically. Please understand we will ask you not to come into the registration building until we are ready to process all campers.
(**SPECIAL NOTE** those who are Knights will be asked to arrive for an earlier meeting than the rest of the campers.)
How much does it cost to go to dlc?
DLC cost $400 for a DeMolay to attend. This covers among other things the camper notebook, two shirts, all meals for the week, and lodging.
When will dlc be completed?
DLC will wrap up on Saturday July 27th at roughly 11:00am. Our final session will start at roughly 10:15am and we hope to have everyone on the road back to their families by 11:00am, so they can share what an amazing experience they had during the week.
***Parents please make sure your DeMolay has completed all of his tasks and checked out with his Chapter Adv before leaving.
Are Fireworks allowed at DLC?
Absolutely NOT! Please do not bring any fireworks with you up to DLC as it will likely just get you a trip back home.
Am i allowed to leave camp once i arrive?
No. Once you are onsite at DLC you are there for the duration of the conference. If you should need to leave we will only do so with parents permission and you will not return to the program without permission from the Conference Director.
